The anticipation among fans to journey back to the Lands Between with the forthcoming Elden Ring DLC is palpable. FromSoftware has confirmed that progress on the upcoming expansion is proceeding smoothly, further fueling excitement among eager gamers - and no, still no release date. Sigh.
Kadokawa, FromSoftware's parent company, recently provided an update for Shadow of the Erdtree in its latest earning results that were published Thursday. The company still doesn't have a release date for the expansion but shared that development is going smoothly.
The release timing of DLC for Elden Ring has not yet been announced, but development is proceeding smoothly," Kadokawa said of Shadow of the Erdtree.
During the Q&A session, the developer reiterated its previous statement about the DLC. "We are currently working hard on the development of DLC for Elden Ring but we have not announced a release date at this time."
Shadow of the Erdtree was announced in February and FromSoftware has been quietly working on the expansion for over a year. The studio has not revealed anything about the upcoming DLC except for a single piece of concept art. Dropping just one image was enough to send fans of the best-selling FromSoftware title into a frenzy.
