Over the weekend, we found out two things conerning Eidos Montreal: the studio wants to "do what Cyberpunk 2077 couldn't" with a new Deus Ex game and that it's working on a new IP.

Embracer Group made waves when it bought Eidos Montreal, Crystal Dynamics, and Square Enix Montreal, at a massive discount earlier this year. Because of this, fans wondered if the new management will let the aforementioned studios work on some of its older games. In particular, Eidos Montreal and Deus Ex.

The latest installment in the fan-favorite and critically-claimed RPG games came out all the way back in 2016. Unfortunately, despite earning several awards and nominations, Square Enix wasn't too happy with how Deus Ex performed commercially.

Coincidentally, this was also the case for Eidos Montreal's most recent project, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. It was a part of the list of nominees for last year's Game of The Year award. However, Square Enix still thought the game didn't meet expectations.
