Electronic Arts may be getting ready to release its first football game after its split with FIFA. The latest info suggests that the studio will still follow the release window of the previous FIFA titles.
Reliable gaming insider billbil-kun shared that EA plans to release EA Sports FC on September 29, 2023. The leaker has a very good track record of revealing release dates and other gaming-related information, like the PS Plus Essentials line-up and free games on the Epic Games Store.
However, longtime FIFA players will not be surprised by the news. EA has consistently released FIFA titles in late September or early October. It makes a lot of sense for the company to release EA Sports FC during the same period.
EA Sports FC will be released in Standard and Ultimate versions similar to the FIFA series titles. The Ultimate Edition will give players early access to the game.
EA Sports FC UItimate Edition will reportedly give players a week of early access along with other bonuses. In comparison, FIFA 23 only gave players three-day early access to the title.
There were leaks earlier this year claiming that EA Sports FC Ultimate Team will include female players for the first time. FIFA titles featured female players for several years but never in the game’s most popular mode. The upcoming title will likely allow for a mix of male and female players for the Ultimate Team mode.
EA Sports FC 24 will be the company’s first football that will not feature the FIFA branding. EA and FIFA started their partnership in 1993 with the release of FIFA International Soccer on the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis console.
EA has teased that more information about EA Sports FC will be revealed this month.
“Everything you love about our games will be part of EA SPORTS FC – the same great experiences, modes, leagues, tournaments, clubs and athletes will be there,” Cam Weber, newly appointed President of EA Sports wrote.
He adds, “Ultimate Team, Career Mode, Pro Clubs, and VOLTA Football will all be there. Our unique licensing portfolio of more than 19,000+ players, 700+ teams, 100+ stadiums and 30 leagues that we’ve continued to invest in for decades will still be there, uniquely in EA SPORTS FC. That includes exclusive partnerships with the Premier League, LaLiga, Bundesliga, Serie A, the MLS – and more to come.”
FIFA is also planning to carry on developing football game titles. The Football governing body has reportedly partnered with a developer to produce “the only authentic, real game that has the FIFA name” in 2024.
