WWE wrestler, Drew McIntyre, is making rounds on the internet again, but this time, it isn't for his in-ring performance.
Fans have been missing the presence of The Scottish Terminator since he and Sheamus failed to defeat Gunther in a highly acclaimed triple-threat match on Day 2 of WrestleMania 39 for the Intercontinental Championship.
McIntyre has missed WWE programming since then due to an injury but it appears his contract situation is contributing to the downtime as well.
According to sources, McIntyre and the WWE are currently at odds regarding the details of his next contract. McIntyre has reportedly voiced his dissatisfaction with how the WWE is booking his character.
It isn't surprising that McIntyre wants more from the WWE. He's easily one of the most popular wrestlers in the world. If his contract is up, the AEW is a legitimate threat to scoop him up and give him a better deal, both financially and creatively. It wasn't too long ago that McIntyre helped prevent the WWE ratings from sinking into historic lows due to his performance during the pandemic era as the promotion's top star. However, when WWE returned to performing in front of a live crowd, McIntyre never got his fair shot as the face of the company.
