Is Drew McIntyre thinking about leaving the WWE?

After two successful runs as the WWE champion, the WWE gave him his final chance against Roman Reigns at Clash at the Castle in Cardiff, Wales, last September, where he lost.

Since then, McIntyre hasn't spent much time as part of the main event. This is despite Clash at the Castle bringing in nearly £22 million for the Welsh economy, as per BBC News.

McIntyre is a gifted performer who deserves creative control over his character so he can showcase his abilities to the fullest.

Additionally, other reports suggest that McIntyre also feels like he deserves to get paid more by the WWE. His financial compensation, or lack thereof, is partly why he's unhappy with his role in the WWE as well.

It remains to be seen how the WWE will respond to McIntyre's demands if the reports are true. But, if Triple H and the rest of the WWE know what's good for them, it needs to recognize what it will lose if it doesn't give in to what McIntyre wants. Otherwise, they might end up missing out on what could be another good run for McIntyre albeit for a different wrestling promotion like the AEW.

Perhaps Triple H might consider putting McIntyre over with the newly reintroduced WWE Heavyweight Championship belt?

In the meantime, wrestling fans can look forward to watching all the WWE action unfold in the first post-WrestleMania 39 PPV at WWE Backlash on May 6, which will be headlined by Brock Lesnar and Cody Rhodes.
