Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 has truly stood the test of time. The game, originally released in 2016, still holds the interest of many gamers even though it's been seven years. More importantly, the publisher, Bandai Namco, still provides regular updates in support.
On Thursday, October 12, the video game developer released a new major update. Bandai Namco had announced the expansion during a roadmap update earlier in the week where it announced that even more content is on the way next year.
The new update includes a new event tagged the Festival of Universes and a new battle mode called the Cross Versus. Apart from these two, the recent update will introduce an Awoken Skill: Ultra Instinct and Avatar Level Cap Unlock feature improvements, among others.
There is also a Welcome Campaign with fans getting a log-in bonus as well as a "Free Trial for select DLC characters" until October 19. The DLC characters that are available with the update include Cabba, Bojack, Fused Zamasu, Jiren, SSGSS Gogeta, SSGSS Vegito, Goku's Ultra Instinct form, and Super Saiyan Kefla, among others.
According to Bandai Namco's roadmap, 2024 will see the release of an expansion that will include new scenarios and new playable characters, as well as other content. More importantly, the studio will finally release the long-awaited PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S versions of the action role-playing video game.
