The Mandalorian's success has paved the way for other Star Wars spin-offs to hit Disney+. Following two successful seasons, the Pedro Pascal-led show got its spin-off in The Book of Boba Fett, which is set to conclude on February 9. After this, fans can look forward to the Obi-Wan Kenobi series next, starring Ewan McGregor as the lead actor in the same role that he famously portrayed more than a decade ago.
Unfortunately, Disney+ hasn't confirmed when exactly the Obi-Wan Kenobi series will premiere - until now.
As leaked by Disney Plus executive Brandon San Giovanni on Twitter (and spotted by IGN), Obi-Wan will say "Hello there" on Disney Plus this May. Although San Giovanni later retracted his statement, deleting the tweet and locking his account suggests that he wasn't talking about an upcoming Obi-Wan comic. Furthermore, a report from The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that the McGregor-led series will start streaming on Disney+ in May as well.
If it's any consolation, McGregor confirmed last year that Obi-Wan had already finished filming. A May release would give the showrunners several months to do editing and post-processing work, among other things. If this is true, then Disney+ is sitting on a trailer for Obi-Wan, which could be released anytime now.
