Before it became synonymous with the Marvel Cinematic Universe and its array of films such as Avengers, Disney was synonymous with bringing classic fairy tales to the screen. Although it is no longer its bread and butter, the entertainment behemoth still brings fairy tales to life.
Now, as originally announced in 2016, the company is finally set to release a live-action adaptation of the classic Peter Pan children's tale titled Peter Pan & Wendy to its streaming platform Disney Plus this coming March. Ahead of its release, the company has released the film's first official trailer.
The one-and-three-quarter-minute-long trailer opens with protagonist Wendy Darling searching for her siblings – Michael and John Darling – after they arrive in Neverland. She comes upon the Lost Boys who introduce themselves and tell her their individual stories. The trailer also shows how Wendy and her siblings got to go on their adventure. Further, it provides a first look at Jude Law's Captain Hook and teases some mouthwatering fight scenes.
The film's official synopsis reads, "Peter Pan & Wendy introduces Wendy Darling, a young girl afraid to leave her childhood home behind, who meets Peter Pan, a boy who refuses to grow up. Alongside her brothers and a tiny fairy, Tinker Bell, she travels with Peter to the magical world of Neverland. There, she encounters an evil pirate captain, Captain Hook, and embarks on a thrilling and dangerous adventure that will change her life forever."
