Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson novel series is one of the most popular book franchises in the world. The series has been adapted into multiple media, including video games and feature films. Now, the world of Percy Jackson is about to get bigger with an eight-part television adaptation.

The series, titled Percy Jackson and the Olympians, will arrive on Disney Plus later this year. It will adapt the first book in the series with a second season, based on the second season in the hexalogy, potentially on the way.

A few days ago, the company gave us a glimpse of the adaptation with the release of a new teaser trailer.

As the teaser kicks off, the voice of Percy Jackson, played by Walker Scobell introduces his character. We hear him say, "My name is Percy Jackson. Am I a troubled kid?" The voice answers in the affirmative and then goes on to list a series of challenges that the young demigod is facing, including bullying, bad grades, and his magical heritage.

The trailer shows us snippets of Percy struggling to read because of dyslexia. We also see scenes of him being bullied. However, all these seem to be the least of Percy's worries as we see him being tackled to the ground by a giant beast.
