Following an exciting and successful first season, Disney+ renewed Loki, starring Tom Hiddleston, for a second season. Now, the streamer has provided fans with a new look at the upcoming show via a promo video it shared on its official Twitter account.
The video showcases the streaming platform’s TV slate, alongside that of its sister platform Hulu, for 2023 and includes scenes from Loki season 2, The Mandalorian season 3, The Great, Secret Invasion, Peter Pan & Wendy, and Tiny Beautiful Things, among others.
The commercial footage provided only brief glimpses of the forthcoming show, which are not enough to make any call on what it will be about. However, given that the clip includes a fight within the halls of the TVA, the decapitated head of a TVA puppet, and Loki thrusting a spear into a mural of the three Time-Keepers, the new season promises to be as exciting as the first season.

Disney had previously showcased a teaser trailer for the series at the D23 expo last September. The trailer revealed that Loki was dragged through time during which he saw “terrible, awful things.” When he finds himself in a new world where nobody recognizes him, he is left stranded. However, Loki manages to convince Mobius, a TVA agent, that the multiverse is in danger from a more powerful, multiversal foe: Kang the Conqueror.
Set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the first season of Loki began during the events of the Avengers: Endgame, after the titular character stole the Tesseract. Unknown to him, the infinity stone transported him to the Time Variance Authority – an organization that monitors multiple timelines across the universe – where he was due to stand trial for his damage to the timeline. However, Mobius convinced Loki to aid the organization in capturing a variant of himself named Sylvie.
Tom Hiddleston will reprise his role as the titular character in the forthcoming installment, with Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Owen Wilson, Sophia Di Martino, Eugene Cordero, and Tara Strong also returning in their roles as Ravonna Renslayer, Mobius M. Mobius, Sylvie, Casey/Hunter K-5E, and Miss Minutes respectively. Loki season 2 will also see the addition of several new cast members, including Rafael Casal, Kate Dickie, and Ke Huy Quan. At the moment, Marvel hasn’t disclosed Casal and Dickie’s roles. However, Quan will reportedly play a Time Variance Authority archivist.
Although Loki season 2 does not have a definite release date at the moment, it is slated to debut this summer. For fans who want to catch up on the first season of the trickster god, all six episodes of Loki season 1 are available on Disney Plus.
