Director Shawn Levy says Stanger Things 5 will be "as big as any of the biggest movies"

Long-time cast members also feel the same way about the end of the beloved TV series. In an interview with Women's Wear Daily, actor Joe Keery shared his bittersweet feeling about the conclusion to Stranger Things.

"It does feel like it's time. It won't be easy for it to end," Keery shared. "I mean, I owe my whole career to being on that show and all the opportunities that I had since are because of that show." He added, "So it's very convoluted."

"There's a sense of relief, there's a sense of sadness. I guess my goal is to just really soak it up as much as I can while we're doing it, and not take any of it for granted because it's been an amazing ride with such great people. And then once it's done, move forward and try to just hold on to the joy that we had when we were making it….Everything has a beginning and the middle and an end. It'll be nice to have the end of this too."

For actor David Harbour, what he looks forward to is seeing spin-offs for the show. He has said that he would like to see another star take on the role and later nominated Euphoria star Jacob Elordi to take on a younger version of Jim Hopper in a spin-off series.

"I think as soon as the show ends, or maybe six months before it ends, you'll be hearing about whatever spin-offs they have planned," Harbour revealed. 'At this point, I think Hopper is a character that can exist independent of me. If they wanna go back in time, forward in time… I'd love to see another actor play Hopper, and see what they can bring to it."

He later jokingly said of Jacob Elordi, "He could pull off being as handsome as I was at 20."
