CD Projekt recently announced that they're working on expanding the company. This is in line with their plans to work on multiple AAA titles simultaneously from 2022. Acquiring the former Digital Scapes studio is definitely a step in the right direction.
Digital Scapes was founded back in 2012 by a host of talented veteran individuals in the gaming industry. Previously, the studio's founders had experience working in BioWare, Radical Entertainment, and Relic. The studio specialized in multiplayer game development.
Among the many AAA games that the studio has handled in the past are Mass Effect, Dying Light, and Company of Heroes.
With the studio now becoming CD Projekt RED Vancouver, the Polish developers will now have teams in four different parts of the globe. this includes Warsaw, Krakow, and Wroclaw, on top of the recently-acquired Vancouver studio. This should afford them access to talent from all around the glob and will make it possible for development to continue around the clock without subjecting employees to unfair work hours.
