Square Enix reveals details of second DLC for Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin

As the Wanderer of the Rift trailer shows, Jack and his party will fight Gilgamesh, who uses the swords and spears he's collected throughout his adventures. The recurring Final Fantasy character is also seen wielding a missile for some reason. In addition, Gilgamesh will bring with him the Rift Labyrinth, which is a set of randomly generated dungeons where the players can fight against a variety of monsters. The DLC will add to the difficulty, which raises enemy levels and give them a chance to drop more powerful equipment, along with a new set of exclusive monsters, Chaotic Monsters. Finally, Wanderer of the Rift will be adding the fan-favorite Blue Mage class to Stranger of Paradise as well as a new command ability for Jack, Dimension Bringer.

These are just some of the new stuff that the second Stranger of Paradise DLC will introduce to the game, so be sure to check the DLC out when it launches on the 26th.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is a unique take on the Final Fantasy formula. It's an action role-playing game that's more akin to Dark Souls than the classic JRPG series. It might be an outlier, but Square Enix is committed to supporting Stranger of Paradise. The game is still set to get a third episode, Different Future, sometime down the line.

At this point, we wouldn't be surprised if Square Enix and Team Ninja are also working on a sequel to Stranger of Paradise, after it's finished with Rise of the Ronin for the PlayStation 5.

In other news, fans are still waiting on Yoshi-P's earlier promise that we'll see more FF16 footage this month. Some believe that this standalone FF16 trailer is the result of Sony's decision to delay its original plans for a State of Play in light of Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
