Denzel Washington is back in the first trailer for Equalizer 3

Washington is reuniting with Dakota Fanning in the upcoming movie. The pair worked together on Man on Fire which came out back in 2004. Fanning was around 10 years old when the movie came out. Fans of the duo will be excited to see the actors back together in a new movie.

Washington and Fanning are joined by David Denman, Sonia Ben Ammar, and Remo Girone. The film is written by Richard Wenk, who also worked on the first two films.

Antoine Fuqua will return as director for the movie. Fuqua directed the first two films and has worked previously with Washington on Training Day and The Magnificent Seven. The director recently worked with Will Smith on the historical drama Emancipation.

The movie is based on the characters from a TV series of the same name which ran from 1985 to 1989 on CBS. It starred Edward Woodward as Robert McCall and ran for four seasons.

The Equalizer returned to the small screen with a reboot starring Queen Latifah as Robyn McCall. The crime drama aired on CBS and has three seasons. There is still no word if the series will return for a fourth season.

The Equalizer 3 is coming to theaters on September 1.
