The Dead Island series is no stranger to lengthy delays. Case in point, the first game, which was released in 2011, might have received pre-release acclaim and got a lot of hype, but it was released five years after it was first announced in 2006. So, when fans got wind of news that Dead Island 2 was in development in 2014, most half-expected the sequel to take a while to make as well.
Unfortunately, this isn't what happened - Dead Island 2 has actually been postponed indefinitely since 2017!
Since then, there've been plenty of news about Dead Island 2's progress and release, but it appears that the most recent piece of information might have just confirmed that the game is very much on Deep Silver's docket.
According to Tom Henderson, his sources have told him that Dambuster Studios is actively working on Dead Island 2. Furthermore, Henderson claims that Deep Silver is eyeing a release between Q4 2022 and early 2023. Finally, Henderson adds that Deep Silver might make a more formal announcement soon.
What's also interesting here is that, as per GamesRadar, Dead Island 2 is in "active development," corroborating Henderson's latest leak about Dead Island 2.
