David Corenswet is a fan of My Adventures with Superman

Corenswet, well known for his role in Pearl, was unveiled in late June as the new Clark Kent. The film stars Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane as well, a casting decision that has left fans eagerly waiting. In a touching display of cross-medium support, the incoming live-action Superman voiced his eagerness to watch Quaid's animated venture, with a simple yet resonating message, "Will be watching," along with a saluting emoji. Quaid responded in kind, saluting back.

Despite occupying different mediums, these two adaptations are in-sync, at least thematically. Both Superman: Legacy and My Adventures with Superman are exploring a young Clark Kent, delving into his life, struggles, and the development of his iconic identity. Interestingly, the film is skipping the over-explored origin story, focusing instead on a somewhat matured, yet still young, Clark.

My Adventures with Superman, which just premiered on Adult Swim with two back-to-back episodes, adopts a youthful if jovial perspective. We find a young Clark Kent having recently moved to Metropolis and grappling with his past and origins. The series also features a young Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen, starting in their respective careers at the Daily Planet.

Each new episode airs on Adult Swim and becomes available for streaming on Max the next day. This animated series has already secured a second season, promising fans more adventures in the world of the young Man of Steel.

Quaid, known for his roles in The Boys and Star Trek: Lower Decks, brings a fresh and youthful voice to Superman, is going to be accompanied by Alice Lee as Lois Lane and Ishmael Sahid as Jimmy Olsen.

The interplay between the two Supermans (or is it Supermen?) has delighted fans and is a positive indicator of the future health of the DC Universe. The Superman landscape is broadening, with both new ventures bringing a fresh perspective to the timeless character. With Quaid's youthful and energetic portrayal already winning hearts, and Corenswet's live-action rendition raising anticipation, it's indeed a thrilling time to be a Superman fan.

As Corenswet prepares for his 2025 leap into the Superman legacy, and Quaid continues his animated adventures, one thing is certain: Superman, whether in animation or live-action, will continue to fly high, unite audiences, and inspire new generations of fans. The Man of Steel's legacy is indeed in good hands.
