As many as seven different actors have portrayed the dashing debonaire MI6 agent throughout the years. With Daniel Craig set to retire from playing James Bond after the upcoming film, No Time to Die, fans are looking forward to seeing who will be cast as the superspy next. However, while fans are so eager to talk about and suggest who they think is the best actor or actress for the job, it seems Craig is more than ready to move on.
The next James Bond is not Craig's problem
At the No Time to Die premiere, Independent took the time to ask Daniel Craig a few words while the actor was on the red carpet. He was asked several questions, including if he's going to miss playing James Bond or if he's going to reprise the role again someday. His answers to both questions were straightforward enough, but his response when asked if he preferred any actor or actress to succeed him was what really caught everyone's attention.
Craig simply told the Independent that the search for the next James Bond is "not [his] problem".
