Nearly a year into its release date, Cyberpunk 2077 still hasn't recovered from its messy launch. To date, CD Projekt Red continues to put in a lot of effort to fix all of the issues that continue to plague Cyberpunk 2077.
Whether or not that is going to come sooner or later is up in the air. However, what is certain is that CD Projekt Red is moving on with a new game director going forward. Who Is the Cyberpunk 2077 New Game Director? Gabriel Amatangelo was the Lead Creative Lead Creative on The Descent for Dragon Age.
According to a report from GamesIndustry, CD Projekt Red has appointed Gabriel Amatangelo as Cyberpunk 2077's new Game Director. At the same time, former Quest Director Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz will step down from his former position and leave CD Projekt Red.
Understandably, some fans are expressing concern about such a monumental move. However, this is actually not uncommon. In fact, bringing in Gabriel could end up benefitting Cyberpunk 2077 in the long run.
At the moment, CD Projekt Red has spent more than half a year trying to fix Cyberpunk 2077 and they've somewhat succeeded. Although the game still hasn't been completely fixed, it is mostly in a playable state now. It's only a matter of time before Cyberpunk 2077 becomes relatively free of bugs. This is where Gabriel comes in.
Gabriel previously worked on game expansions for Dragon Age: Inquisition and Star Wars: The Old Republic. This means that bringing him in as the new Cyberpunk 2077 Game Director could signal that CDPR is preparing to launch the long overdue DLCs for the game.
