Whether or not Triple H is in charge of WWE booking and other creative decisionsdoesn't matter now. What's important is that it has successfully recovered from the fumble that was Cody Rhodes losing to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39.
While not seeing Cody Rhodes walk away as the Undisputed WWE Championship in Los Angeles will sting forever, WWE's recent direction has arguably made up for it.
Weeks after Brock Lesnar betrayed Cody Rhodes, the No. 1 contender to snap Roman Reigns' thousand-day streak will have his chance to get his revenge against one of the most feared wrestlers in the world.
Rhodes had already challenged Lesnar last week to a match at WWE Backlash, but it wasn't finalized until earlier this week, and the best part is how this happened. Rhodes called out Lesnar to the middle of the stage while the WWE official, Adam Pearce, told him to stop because he technically shouldn't be in North Little Rock due to "medical complications". However, Rhodes was too angry to care. Even when Pearce caved in and gave him what he wanted, Rhodes mowed through multiple security officials in an attempt to try and get his hands on Rhodes, who looked as smug as ever as he watched his upcoming opponent from afar.
