Cody Rhodes wants Brock Lesnar at Backlash

Cody Rhodes didn't take long to call out The Beast Incarnate after he fell victim to a couple of F5's at the end of RAW after WrestleMania.

Cody Rhodes is clearly not happy with what happened at RAW After WrestleMania.

It’s official: The American Nightmare wants his revenge against The Beast Incarnate.

Lesnar and Rhodes made headlines over the past week after the prolific multi-sport athlete unleashed all his might and raw power on Rhodes at this year’s edition of RAW after WrestleMania, just right before they were set to team up against Solo Sikoa and Roman Reigns for the night’s main event.

Rhodes finally addressed the situation about Lesnar at the latest episode of Monday Night RAW where he said that his tale towards the championship just hit a minor speed bump.

The WWE is explaining the ongoing feud by saying Lesnar wasn’t happy about how he opened Night 2 of WrestleMania 39 against Omos while Rhodes and Reigns were the headliners.

Rhodes admits that Lesnar is scary but he still wishes to fight him and vows to make him see himself as his prey and victim the next time Lesnar looks in the mirror. The American Nightmare finished his promo by calling Lesnar out to square up against him at WWE Backlash, which he referred to as “WrestleMania Backlash.

According to the WWE, Lesnar will answer the call on next week’s Monday Night RAW episode at the Simmons Bank Arena in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

Brock Lesnar vs Cody Rhodes doesn’t have quite the same ring to it as having Cody win the championship but Triple H deserves the benefit of the doubt.

The WWE has not announced anything for WWE Backlash even though the event is just weeks away. The upcoming PPV will see the WWE return to Puerto Rico on May 6 at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan. The only information about WWE Backlash that’s confirmed at the moment is that Bad Bunny is hosting.

Triple H wants everyone to know that the story of Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes is still far from over, and judging by how everything is turning out, it definitely appears that there’s a plan in place.

Maybe, just maybe, Rhodes didn’t deserve to be the champ at WrestleMania 39. Triple H knows a thing or two about being handed things and he’s well aware that working hard for something always resonates with fans. Even though Rhodes was the favorite to win at WrestleMania 39, there was still lingering doubt about the WWE giving him the easy route. And, well, there isn’t a road tougher than having Rhodes go through someone who’s literally taken up giants and won championships at every level he’s competed in.

Cody Rhodes’ storyline at the moment is very similar to John Cena from last decade.

Having Rhodes go up against someone who’s arguably just as deserving to be the “final boss” of the WWE as Reigns and win convincingly is an excellent recipe for a scrumptious tale.

However, we can’t help but wonder if the WWE creative team has other plans for Rhodes. What if Rhodes loses to Lesnar? Better yet, what if Lesnar squashes Rhodes? In this hypothetical scenario, there’s no way to explain what Triple H is thinking other than wanting revenge against The American Nightmare for constantly mocking him during his time at the AEW.

This would definitely explain why the WWE took the all-time WrestleMania win moment from Rhodes.

Speaking of Backlash, Roman Reigns is reportedly not scheduled to appear in Puerto Rico. It appears that the WWE wants to sideline The Tribal Chief for the meantime and cede the spotlight to Rhodes and Lesnar, among others.
