Cities Skyline 2 is finally coming in October

"If you can dream it, you can build it," the game's trailer description reads. "Raise a city from nothing and grow it into a thriving metropolis with the most realistic city builder ever. This is world-building without limits."

The trailer shows off a bit of the gameplay where players can create a complex network of roads. The teaser says that every road and roundabout can be customized. Other forms of transportation including railways were also featured.

According to the game's Steam page, Cities Skylines II will feature a deep simulation that includes the use of AI as well as intricate economics where player choices can have a ripple effect on the rest of the city. Players will be faced with challenges and opportunities in growing their city from a sleepy town to a buzzing metropolis.

Players will have to manage everything from traffic flow to pollution levels. Changeable weather and dynamic weather should be something that is carefully considered. Hopefully, we will also get natural disasters and random events to keep us on our toes.

Colossal Order clearly focused on the visuals of Cities Skylines II in the trailer. The extensive use of shadows makes the city feel much more detailed and alive. The highly detailed graphics will surely inspire city builders to create the metropolis of their dreams.

Cities Skyline II will also delve into the life of citizens inhabiting your cities. Each citizen will have an "occupation, household, relationships, and more." Players can follow around a particular inhabitant and see how the changes they to the city make change the lives of its citizens.

Hopefully, the sequel doesn't stray too far from the gameplay that made the original Cities Skylines a successful title. Some graphical upgrades, bigger and much more detailed structures, and minor gameplay enhancements should attract fans of the first game to hop on the sequel. We will be surely checking out this city builder once it drops on Xbox Gamepass.

Cities Skylines II is coming to PC and Xbox Series X/S on October 24.
