Square released Chrono Cross at the tail end of what many consider the golden era of JRPGs. The PSone title was released in 1999 as a sequel to another classic JRPG game, 1995's Chrono Trigger for the SNES. Both titles shared the same universe with certain story elements overlapping. However, while gamers have had the chance to play Chrono Trigger on other platforms over the years, Chrono Cross remains exclusive to the original PlayStation.
With that said, it appears that this is all about to change real soon.
