One of the best performances from the MCU's most recent films came, unsurprisingly, from Christian Bale, the actor who previously portrayed the caped crusader, Batman, within the DC universe. Now, in the aftermath of his role in the fourth Thor film, Bale has discussed the possibility of making a return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The 48-year-old actor made his MCU debut in Taika Waititi's Thor: Love and Thunder, where he depicted Gorr the God Butcher, a scarred wielder of the Necrosword who seeks the extinction of the gods. The film, which grossed over $760 million worldwide, was praised for its performances, particularly that of Christian Bale.

Speaking to Ash Crossan of Entertainment Tonight while discussing his next film, The Pale Blue Eyes, Bale disclosed that a return to the MCU was still in the cards, saying: A good story is a good story. A good character or a good director, you know, if it's an interesting thing. Crucially, if my kids say I'm not allowed to say no to something. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBMXFSjxHgo&t=14s

Although his character died at the end of the film, Bale wouldn't be opposed to playing another role in the MCU. However, it is unlikely that Bale will be making a return as the Dark Knight following his interview with Comicbook.com, in which he stated: No, no, no. Nobody, nobody reaches out to me or they keep me like a mushroom, keep me in the dark and feed me sh*t.
