It looks like Nintendo has learned from its initial Mario outing from the 90s and has opted for a fully animated adaptation of its most recognizable mascot. To guarantee its success, Nintendo has tapped Illumination, a company best known for laughing its way to the bank by animating yellow blobs of happiness and making them go viral. To top it all off, Chris Pratt has signed on to be the voice of Mario.

While we're still doubtful that Pratt can do Mario justice, we can at least take solace that the Marvel and Jurassic World actor is ecstatic.

No more than 24 hours after the poster and images of the Super Mario movie founds their way online way before its official reveal, Pratt took to Twitter to express his excitement to play the Italian plumber.

The Super Mario movie feels like a fever dream with an all-star cast playing dream roles. In addition to Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy will voice Princess Peach with Keegan-Michael Key as Toad. Also, both Jack Black and Charlie Day will lend their talents to voice Bowser and Luigi, respectively.
