Chris Evans had a great ending to his time as Captain America in Avengers: Endgame. However, since giving up the shield, fans have been asking for him to come back as the Star Spangled Man with a Plan. It seems that fans will have to wait a bit longer for Evans to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Speaking at the C2E2 fan convention in Chicago, the actor shared that his return as Captain America "doesn't quite feel right" yet. Evans explains that he does not want to mess with the story by returning. However, he did say that there are more stories to tell for Captain America.

"It's tough, because look, I love that role deeply," Evans said. "He means so much to me, and I really do. I think there's more Steve Rogers stories tell, sure. But at the same time, I'm very, very precious with it… it's like this little shiny thing that I have that I love so much, and I just don't want to mess up in any way, and I was a part of something that was so special for a special period of time and in a way, it really landed so well."

He adds, "As much as I'm connected to that role and love telling those stories and working with those people, it doesn't quite feel right now." Evans navigated the answer without tipping over either edge, leaving the possibility of a return open without hinting anything.
