Ever since Legendary Pictures' MonsterVerse franchise began, the world has been asking, "What on Earth is Monarch up to?" Well, folks, it seems Apple TV+ is about to spill the beans with its new show, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. Guess what? Godzilla's making a comeback, but this time, he's swapping the big screen for the smaller one.
The recent trailer, unveiled at the New York Comic Con, takes us on a rollercoaster ride through Monarch's history. From its inception after Godzilla's grand entrance in the 1950s to the present-day chaos caused by the King of the Monsters and his Titan pals, if you thought Godzilla was the only big guy around, think again.
Apple TV+'s trailer teases a plethora of kaiju, each more terrifying (and sick-looking) than the last. In case we forget, the trailer has beach ball-sized glowing eggs? Because nothing screams "ominous" like gigantic, luminescent eggs!
However, it's not all monsters and mayhem. The series promises a multi-generational saga, diving deep into buried secrets and the ripple effects of earth-shattering events. Anna Sawai's character seems to be our guide into this world, slowly unraveling the mysteries of Monarch.
Lucky for us (and the characters on the show), if there's anyone who can get to the bottom of a giant monster mystery, it's Kurt Russell. Or Wyatt Russell. Or both? The two actors, who happen to be real-life father and son, will be playing Army Officer Lee Shaw across different decades in the upcoming series.
