CD Projekt Red, the developers of the much-maligned AAA title, Cyberpunk 2077, just can't seem to get a break these days.
Apparently, as a result of the recent cyber attack, the studio has no choice but to delay the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 patch until sometime in March.
CDPR broke this unfortunate news via Twitter.
In the said Tweet, the studio said that their goal for the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 patch went any updates they previously made to the game. They say that they still have more work to do to make sure that the players get the "numerous overall quality improvements and fixes". Because of this, they are now aiming for a March release.
Just to recap, CDPR was subject to a terrible hacking incident earlier in February.
This resulted in hackers getting their hands on numerous sensitive and confidential information. This includes company documents, as well as source code for their multiple titles, including but not limited to, Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher series of games.
With that said, such an attack would be devastating for any developer. Even more so for a studio that's trying to make up for the botched initial release of Cyberpunk 2077. Can Cyberpunk 2077 Still Turn Things Around? While patch 1.1 helped fix some of the initial bugs and issues, Cyberpunk 2077 will need far more content and improvements if the game is to live up to expectations.
