Bungie broke Destiny 2 with its latest patch

One of the biggest fans and critics of Destiny 2 went ahead and compiled a list of things that are broken in Destiny 2 at the moment.

Destiny 2 has had tough times before but this is the worst thing to happen to the game in a while.

Guardians have taken to the internet to voice their annoyance lately. The latest Destiny 2 update, patch 7.0.5.0, was meant to bring good news. Instead, the patch broke Destiny 2, leaving players feeling salty from the endless waves of bugs, crashes, and downtime. The biggest problem, in particular, is an ear-splitting issue because of an unexplained high-pitched sound.

Paul Tassi, a Senior Contributor at Forbes, made an extensive list of the various issues currently plaguing Destiny 2. Several others have since added to it, painting an abysmal sight for Destiny 2 and putting Bungie in a worse light.

While most are rightfully complaining, one couldn’t help but take it in gest. As one Redditor humorously put it, “99 lines of bugs in the code, 99 lines of bugs. Take one down, patch it all out: 256 lines of bugs in the code.” Also, it appears the bugs have had positive side effects. One Redditor shared that they got a random exotic from “just standing at the raid banner.”

Unfortunately, fans still can’t help but feel like the B team is running point on fixing Destiny 2.

Just take a look at Bungie’s latest hotfix, it’s full of syntax errors like mislabeled weapons and mods as well as incorrect dot points. If Bungie can’t release proper hotfix patch notes, then what hope does the game have of being in a playable state as soon as possible?

It’s clear Destiny 2 is going through a bit of a rough patch (pun intended). We hope Bungie can get things back on track as soon as possible, so that all the Guardians can go back to shooting each other and grinding for loot without worrying about a screaming Banshee in their ears, among other things.

It’s safe to say that things aren’t looking great for Destiny 2 and Bungie right now.

Maybe it really is true that Bungie has assigned Destiny 2 to its “B Team” so it can focus on making new games for Sony.

As for the company’s owners, Sony, the world’s leading console manufacturer might be going through a worse time. It’s in the middle of multiple queries from currently facing multiple queries from a U.S. Senator and the U.S. Congress for its “anti-competitive practices.”
