Bray Wyatt and Uncle Howdy are coming to WWE 2K23

Uncle Howdy, a mysterious and untested character tethered to Wyatt's ominous mythos, makes his debut in WWE 2K23.

The WWE still has yet to explain why Bray Wyatt is not back on the WWE roster yet.

The “Revel with Wyatt” DLC pack for WWE 2K23 is set to launch next week, marking the long-anticipated addition of one of WWE’s most enigmatic wrestlers, Bray Wyatt, to the expansive roster. Not only has the game’s developer, 2K, teased fans with a glimpse of Wyatt’s in-game entrance, but they also introduced an unexpected twist – Uncle Howdy.

Bray Wyatt’s presence in the game has been eagerly awaited since his conspicuous absence from WWE television and the release of WWE 2K23. It seems like Wyatt, three-time WWE world champion and the victor over LA Knight in the gruelling Pitch Black match at the Royal Rumble, has been out of the limelight due to an injury. However, wrestling enthusiasts fans can rejoice, for Wyatt’s virtual persona comes alive on July 19, resurrecting his enigmatic presence in WWE 2K23.

One can’t help but be awed by the spectacle of Wyatt’s entrance. The game perfectly captures the intensity and theatrics that his fans have come to expect. As the camera zooms in on Wyatt, clad in his notorious black mask and brandishing a lamp, his entrance pays homage to his Extreme Rules return. The smoke, the fog, the slowly swinging door, all form part of a spectacle designed to thrill. This long-awaited virtual recreation of Wyatt not only satiates the yearning of fans but also teases the intriguing possibilities his character brings to the virtual ring.

Wouldn’t it be something if Bray Wyatt brought back the Wyatt Family, which includes Uncle Howdy?

Alongside Bray Wyatt, the “Revel with Wyatt” pack unveils another surprise: Wyatt’s equally eerie new persona, Uncle Howdy.

Despite never having wrestled in an official WWE match, Uncle Howdy enters the virtual ring with a rating of 84, courtesy of The SmackDown Hotel. His entrance, while not as grandiose as Wyatt’s, carries a distinct foreboding air, made all the more chilling by the perfectly attuned music. The question of his inclusion – whether free for all or exclusive to those who have purchased the DLC – has been left intentionally vague by 2K. Either way, his arrival adds an enticing layer of mystery to the WWE 2K23 universe.

The “Revel with Wyatt” pack, however, extends beyond Wyatt and Howdy. It includes an eclectic blend of characters – the Human Wrecking Machine Zeus, the Viking Raiders ally Valhalla, Schism leader Joe Gacy, NXT superstar Blair Davenport, and Monday Night Raw superstar.

Bray Wyatt’s presence in the WWE has been terribly missed but at least fans will be able to play as him in WWE 2K23.

These additions bring the total number of playable characters in WWE 2K23 to a staggering 250, promising an immersive gaming experience for wrestling fans.

Interestingly, the timing of the announcement is hard to ignore. The news coincides with the release of AEW Fight Forever, sparking speculation about a strategic move by Visual Concepts and 2K Games to steal some of their rival’s thunder. In addition to unveiling the new characters, they have also been promoting their MyFACTION mode extensively, indicating a concerted effort to reassert their position in the gaming arena.

The DLC pack, which is part of a series of monthly updates, will be available for individual purchase or will automatically be applied for those who’ve purchased the Season Pass or special editions of WWE 2K23. With just one more pack left in the WWE 2K23 season pass releasing next month, the “Revel with Wyatt” DLC promises to keep gamers hooked with its rich roster and compelling new features.

Uncle Howdy is the latest persona that Bray Wyatt has adopted.

Aside from WWE 2K23’s latest DLC pack, it’s an exhilarating time to be a WWE fan. With only weeks to go until the start of SummerSlam on August 5 in Detroit, we’re about to see the culmination of a series of storylines that the WWE has built up for months, chief among them being Cody Rhodes’ rubber match against Brock Lesnar and a new peak for The Bloodline storyline with Jey Uso presumably going up against Roman Reigns. If we’re lucky, The Rock might even grace us with his presence after Grayson Waller called him out on social media.
