Blaidd Quest And Armor Guide In Elden Ring

Blaidd, the Wolven Warrior, is one of the loyal subordinates of Ranni, the Witch. The powerful Wolf Knight has his fair share of troubles, however, and helping him complete his quest will give you rewards. This guide will show you how you can complete the Howling in the Mistwood quest and how you can get Blaidd’s full armor set in Elden Ring. Beware, there are minor spoilers for this guide, but we will not spoil any heavy lore about Blaidd.

Howling in the Mistwood Ruins

You will hear Blaidd howling on top of the ruins.

Before we start, if you want to get Blaidd’s armor set, you need to do a whole separate quest aside from his quest. You need to complete Ranni’s questline before you can get his armor set in the game. Once you’ve done that, to start Blaidd’s quest, you will need to go to the Mistwood Ruins at night, and there you will hear someone howl.

This will be your first encounter with Blaidd and he will be sitting on top of the ruins, howling without noticing you.

Snap Gesture

Use the Snap Gesture while you are underneath Blaidd in the Mistwood Ruins.

To make him go down from the ruins, you need to go back to the Church of Elleh. Talk to the merchant called Merchant Kale and ask him about the howling in the Mistwood Ruins. The Merchant will teach you the Snap Gesture. Go back to the Mistwood Ruins and stand below Blaidd. Make the gesture and he will come down from the ruins.

Talk to Blaidd and he will tell you that he is looking for Darriwil and he will offer you a reward if you find him.

About Blaidd and Darriwil

To hunt down Darriwil, you need to go to the Forlorn Hound Evergaol.
To hunt down Darriwil, you need to go to the Forlorn Hound Evergaol.

Go back to Merchant Kale and ask about Blaidd. He will tell you more about the Wolven Knight. Now it is time to hunt down Darriwil. You can find him in the Forlorn Hound Evergaol as shown on the map above. Start by teleporting in the Agheel Lake South and head north to the quest area. When you get to the Forlorn Hound Evergaol, examine the central platform to enter the Evergaol.

Darriwil Fight

You can summon Blaidd to fight alongside you in the Darriwil boss fight.

Once you are ready for a fight, enter the Evergaol. Head south and you will find the Bloodhound Knight Darriwil. The Darriwil boss fight can be challenging for both melees and ranged players. If you are using spells, do try to use the Glimstone spells if you can.  If you use other ranged weapons, you need to dodge his attacks first and then attack him while he is in his attack animation.

Darriwil will enter Phase 2 after you lower him to half of his health.
Darriwil will enter Phase 2 after you lower him to half of his health.

When he drags his claws on the ground and charges at you, quickly roll away from his plunging attack and you can get a couple of hits in. If you are confident enough, you can roll into him instead, and if you time it correctly, you will get no damage. Darriwil will also perform a three or four-hit combo with his sword. He will swing his sword and it will have a small delay before he follows it up with two more hits.

Once you lower him to less than half health, he will perform a different kind of charge attack at you. He will drag his claws on the ground and you will see some sparks coming out of it before it hits you in an arc. Wait for the last minute of the arc attack then you can land a few hits due to the delay of the attack animation. After defeating Darriwil, you will get the Bloodhound’s Fang.

Talk to Blaidd

You will find Iji, the Blacksmith on the road to the Manor.

Once you defeat Darriwil, you will see Blaidd outside of the Evergaol. Talk to him and he will give you the Somber Smithing Stone. Talk to him again and he will tell you about a Blacksmith in Raya Lucaria. To find the blacksmith, go to the road to the Manor area as seen on the map above. To get here, you can teleport on the Northern Liurna Lake Shore and head north, past the Kingsrealm Ruins.

After this dialogue, you will get an option that says “Blaidd sent me”.

Pick that option and you will unlock the Carian Filigreed Crest. You can purchase the item in his store, along with some Somber Smithing Stones.
