Multiple post-credits scenes are synonymous with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. No one sits through an entire end credit quite like a Marvel fan. Deadpool even joked about this once, in the first Deadpool movie.
If you haven't heard yet, then we are here to confirm that there will only be one post-credits scene for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Typically, Marvel has two: a mid-credit and one post-credits scene related to a sequel or tie-up with another film. In Black Panther 2, there will only be a mid-credit scene.
Fans are reacting to this non-traditional stance. But, before everything boils over, Nate Moore, producer of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever tried to explain why they chose to have only one scene instead of two.
Speaking to Brandon Davis, Moore reveals that the decision hinged on the tone of the movie. "Not this time. Obviously, the weight of this movie is a bit different, and the tone of this movie is a bit different, and it felt, especially, once people see the film," Moore shares.
"We felt the ending was kind of poetic that to then go back and say, "Hey, there's a tag at the end of the credits," felt a little disingenuous tonally from what we were doing. Much like [Avengers] Endgame didn't have a tag, this didn't feel like a movie that needed it," the producer adds.
