BioWare drops Dragon Age: Dreadwolf trailer for Dragon Age day

Varric Tethras, a surface dwarf who joins the player-controlled protagonist in both Dragon Age 2 and Dragon Age: Inquisition, narrates the video as he tells us the story of the Dread Wolf: I knew him as Solas, a thoughtful mage obsessed with dreams, but long ago, he had a different name - Fen'Harel, the Dread Wolf. Ancient Elven God of Lies or heroic rebel against tyranny, depending on which story you believe. In his final fight with the Elven Gods, Solas imprisoned them and created a veil that split our world from the raw magic of the fade. This isn't the first time that fan-favorite characters have been brought back from older Dragon Age games. Most likely, we'll see other former companions join the fray, either as playable characters or as NPCs.

In addition to telling us that it's making progress on Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, BioWare also highlighted Dragon Age: Absolution, an animated spin-off that's set to premiere on Netflix on Friday, December 9. Finally, we got news of a new short story and a Dragon Age collection for the Sims 4.

Speaking of Dragon Age, DLCs for older Dragon Age games have been available for free starting back in October. So, if you're itching for some adventuring, you might want to revisit the older games. Also, if Dragon Age: Dreadwolf stays on its current track, it might launch by late 2023 if not early 2024, which is in line with previous rumors.
