Here are the best video games coming out in October 2023

This October is the most anticipated (or dreaded, if you have a busy schedule) month for gamers, and now you'll find out why.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has a chance to be a late addition to the two-way GOTY race between The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Baldur's Gate 3.

From 2020 to 2022, the collective complaint about video game releases was that there wasn’t enough. But, most of the criticism was hushed due to circumstances beyond everyone’s control. From the COVID-19 pandemic to the ballooning costs of video game development, the chip shortage, and basically Murphy’s Law being at play, there simply wasn’t too many big titles that came out over the past three years. Now, it’s the exact opposite.

2023 can be considered as the video game industry’s combined effort to tell everyone to hold their proverbial beers.

After welcoming The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Diablo 4, and Final Fantasy 16, within weeks of each other, with Baldur’s Gate 3 and Starfield coming out nearly back-to-back, October is even bigger.

Forza Motorsport might have dropped the number in its name, but make no mistake, it’s still the culmination of its predecessors.

From a certain web-slinger’s aerial acrobatics to the gritty thrills of the supernatural, the coming month has something for everyone.

All that’s left for you now is to find a way to squeeze in all of these games into your schedule, because your sick leave has probably run out by now.

The good news is that with the holiday season just right around the corner, you might get some time off to work on an even bigger backlog than before.
