Developed by Behaviour Interactive, Meet Your Maker is one of the most sought-after games of the year, which has been subbed a “doom-like” raiding game. Last year, The studio subtly teased that players looking to try the game could do so as early as winter. Behaviour Interactive is also actively working on Dead by Daylight and the upcoming Silent Hill Ascension. So it is quite a feat to develop a promising new game at the same time.
Fortunately, the developers have come through, with an official announcement during Steam NextFest about their Open Beta that is scheduled to begin on February 6, 2023, and end on February 13, 2023. Players can expect Meet Your Maker servers to go live on Steam at 9 A.M EST on February 6, 2023.
Anyone with a Steam account can try the Open Beta, which will end at 11:59 P.M EST on February 13, 2023. There is no pre-registration. The new Open Beta will also feature various changes and improvements.
The Meet Your Maker beta will feature new social and progression systems. It will also include features like Champion Outposts, Social Raids, and a Ranking system. Champion Outposts are a curated system that shares the players’ Outposts, given they’ve performed well among other players, and the social raids menu will allow players to search for and raid outposts. Players can rank up by earning ranking points through these raids on the world map.
The upcoming beta will also feature a new building feature that mostly focuses on quality-of-life updates, in order to facilitate effective and efficient Outpost building. Now, players can quickly drag and drop to build, allowing players to quickly place several blocks of the same type all at once. Placing traps now show their range or area of effect. Finally, players can delete all blocks of the same type at once.
Meet Your Maker is shaping up to be a brutal experience with heaps of fun to boot. The audience reaction from the trailers has been mostly positive, and we can see why.
Meet Your Maker is scheduled to release on April 4 for PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
