Director Tim Burton provided updates on his involvement in a potential sequel to the 1988 cult classic Beetlejuice. The legendary filmmaker provided this update as he answered the questions during a press conference at the Lumière Festival in Lyon, where he was awarded the prestigious Prix Lumière.
Back in February, Brad Pitt's production company, Plan B, revealed it is developing a sequel to the 1988 film. However, the company has not provided any update on the film since then.
When asked about his possible involvement in the film, Burton commented, "I only know if I'm making a film when I'm actually on the set shooting. I try to go back to the root of everything. It springs from a seed and then it grows, rather than out of these statements. I am working on ideas and things but it's all very early days. We'll see how it goes. How's that for a none answer?"
Burton had earlier suggested he had no interest in the film. However, his statement at the festival leaves things open-ended and neither confirms nor discards his involvement.
