It looks like Barbie is finally done setting movie records - at least in the box office. The fantasy comedy flick is finally getting a digital release date after becoming the year's highest-grossing film. Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling are heading to digital media as Warner Bros Pictures announced that the movie will be available online on September 12.
The film will also reportedly be available on Prime Video, although Warner Bros has yet to give an official announcement. The movie will be available for "premium digital ownership" or for 48-hour rental at participating digital platforms.
Barbie, one half of the cultural phenomenon known as Barbenheimer, premiered on July 21 and has since smashed several movie records. Greta Gerwig is the first solo female director to break the $1 billion barrier and the second movie this year after The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
