Elden Ring is this year’s best-selling game. It’s also the main candidate to win Game of the Year. Its closest competition is God of War: Ragnarok, which comes out in November, but the verdict is still out on the PlayStation exclusive.
Part of Elden Ring’s appeal is its massive and enchanting open-world environment as well as its accessible gameplay. However, since it is still a FromSoftware game, it has to maintain its reputation. To that end, Elden Ring is just as difficult as its genre-spawning cousins, Dark Souls, and Bloodborne. Of course, just like other Soulsborne games, Elden Ring attracts its fair share of uniquely skilled players that make even its most challenging bosses look like child’s play.
Elden Ring’s biggest example of this is Klein Tsuboi, AKA “Let Me Solo Her.”
Unlike other players that wear overly flamboyant gear, Tsuboi arms his character with a pair of dual katanas and a pot. Yet, despite the relative lack of equipment, Tsuboi has earned a reputation for helping other players kill Malenia, arguably Elden Ring’s toughest boss.
Tsuboi made a name for himself after getting summoned by players to take out Malenia. If a player chances on Tsuboi’s availability, he’ll help out and tell them to “let me solo her.” Tsuboi has helped thousands of players kill the optional late-game boss following Elden Ring’s launch in February. Tsuboi has become such an iconic part of Elden Ring that Bandai Namco and FromSoftware have decided to congratulate him for his skill and dedication to Elden Ring.
As shared by Tsuboi on Twitter, Elden Ring’s publisher gifted a box set full of trinkets and other replicas of in-game items like a real-life sword, a cloak similar to the one that Malenia wears in the game, and a personalized note.
Thank you @BandaiNamcoUS and @ELDENRING for giving me this gift and congratulating me for being #LetMeSoloHer . I can still remember my first experience with the soulsborne series and almost quitting because of Iudex Gundyr in Dark souls 3. I'm glad I persisted and (1/3) pic.twitter.com/w2FF77HRnO

We don’t know what Tsuboi has planned next, but we’re pretty sure he isn’t going to stop helping players take down Malenia. As for Elden Ring, we know that the base game wasn’t it. FromSoftware has confirmed that it will be releasing an expansion to Elden Ring. If we’re lucky, it will include another tough boss like Malenia, and who knows? Maybe Tsuboi will move on to asking players to let him solo that boss instead.
