Larian Studios has rolled out Hotfix 22 for Baldur’s Gate 3, addressing various issues across platforms and enhancing the Xbox experience in particular. This latest update went live on PC, PS5, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X – at the same time, for the first time! – bringing a slew of improvements, including fixes for the annoying Minthara dialogue glitches.
Although Baldur’s Gate 3 has gained widespread critical acclaim and sales success, bugs and glitches have plagued the officially licensed Dungeons & Dragons computer roleplaying game (CRPG) since day one.
With a commitment to keeping Baldur’s Gate 3 up-to-date, Larian Studios has diligently worked on maintaining parity among platforms. Despite occasional delays in updates for the Xbox version, the studio’s efforts have resulted in Hotfix 22 aligning all available platforms with the latest improvements.
News about the update was released on the official Larian Studios and Baldur’s Gate 3 X (formerly Twitter) accounts. Acknowledging the patience of the Xbox community during testing phases, Larian Studios expressed gratitude on social media while announcing the details of the new hotfix release.

One of the key highlights of Baldur’s Gate 3‘s Hotfix #22 is the resolution of multiple crashes and adding UI enhancements. These fixes aim to provide a more stable gaming experience across all platforms, with particular attention given to Xbox compatibility.
And Xbox BG3 players who have felt left out from the previous updates can rejoice. Hotfix #22 brings Xbox versions up to speed with previously released patches on PS5 and PC, including Hotfixes 20 and 21, which tackle cross-save issues and other lingering problems from Patch #6.
Alongside crash and blocker fixes, enhancements in Hotfix 20 and 21 are fully integrated, addressing issues, such as the companion Minthara’s behavior toward Gale and unintended legacy dialogue flows that are no longer relevant to the current storyline.
Beyond resolving technical issues, Hotfix 22 introduces quality of life improvements, notably enhancing syncing and cross-saving messaging. Players will now receive clearer notifications when cross-save syncing fails, with the option to retry.
Additionally, UI adjustments have been made to prevent voice chat from overlapping the minimap on split-screen mode, and pop-up notifications now function as intended, even during specific in-game actions.
Some of the highlights of BG3’s Hotfix #22 include:
Crashes and Blockers
- Fixes for crashes related to character conditions and internal crashes when suspending the game being played on an Xbox which caused the game to reboot.
UI Enhancements
- Improved syncing and cross-saving messaging.
- Prevention of voice chat overlapping the minimap on split-screen.
- Corrected functionality of pop-up notifications not triggering, particularly the ‘Another Player is Joining’ message when a host has an open panel on Xbox.
Scripting Fixes
- Addressed unintentional legacy dialogue flows. Specifically, this resolves incidents where Minthara ends the relationship with Dark Urge players that rejected Bhaal.
- Improved companion behavior and relationship dynamics, such as dialogues suddenly ending when kissing romantic companions.
The complete list and details of the issues resolved with Hotfix #22 can be found at the official website of Baldur’s Gate 3 and the Steam Community Page.
For those players who have yet to immerse themselves in the rich world of Baldur’s Gate 3, now is the perfect time to embark on adventures across the lands of Faerûn. With Hotfix 22 in place, players can enjoy a more seamless and enjoyable gaming experience since the game launched, regardless of their chosen platform.
