We’ve got some bad news and good news for those who are looking forward to Andor Season 2. The good news is that it’s official with a release date. The bad news is that it’s not coming anytime soon.
According to showrunner, Tony Gilroy, the second and final season of Andor is on track for an August 2024 release.
Gilroy was at this year’s Star Wars Celebration to confirm the slightly unfortunate news. The said event also included other big-time revelations like the next mainline Star Wars film and the first trailer for Ahsoka, among others.

Nobody knew what to expect from Andor when it came out last year. After all, fans already knew the fate of Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor following the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. But, while most audiences already knew that Andor had died trying to steal the Death Star plans, Andor told a pretty deep tale that even hardcore Star Wars fans didn’t even know about. Whereas most of the Disney offerings focused on fan service and nods to the films, Andor was a politically-heavy show with a surprisingly compelling story.
With that said, we’re hoping that the long wait in the interim won’t spoil the hype Andor generated when Season 1 first premiered.
