Hollywood is all about connections, with actors landing roles based on recommendations more often than the industry would like to admit. But, while it's easy to pencil in the casting of Amber Heard as Queen Mera in the DC Extended Universe as an example, this isn't the case.

As per Unilad, Depp's lawyer, Camille Vasquez, cross-examined Heard, asking the Aquaman actress, "Mr. Depp got you that role in Aquaman, didn't he?" to which, the actor replied, "Excuse me?" When asked again the same question, Heard flat-out denied the accusation, saying, "No, Ms. Vasquez, I got that role by auditioning."

This was one of the highlights of Heard's fourth day on the stand at Depp's still-ongoing defamation trial.

Heard and Depp's nasty divorce and the legal issues that followed have affected the former couple's Hollywood careers. Case in point, Warner Bros. asked Depp to vacate his post from the Fantastic Beasts franchise with Mads Mikkelsen replacing him in Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.
