Actor resume reveals potential GTA 6 codename

Rockstar Games might be doing everything it can to keep a tight lid on all GTA 6 info, but it seems that leaks will always find a way.

Vice City is the only city that Rockstar Games hasn't revisited yet in a "modern" GTA game.

“Life finds a way” is a memorable quote from the 1993 sci-fi film, Jurassic Park. You may also replace the word “life” with “leaks” and it will apply to the video game industry regardless of how much developers would like to keep things a secret.

For example, a voice actor might have just revealed the codename for GTA 6.

Rockstar Games confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI is in development earlier this year, which the studio followed with a statement saying that it wants GTA 6 to be “the best it can possibly be.”

Rockstar has pooled a lot of resources to work on GTA VI. It’s understandable why the company would like to keep every detail under lock and key. Unfortunately, it can only do so much against the internet, which is full of eagle-eyed observers. Natonia Monet just let it slip in her resume that she is part of the “Fireball Video Game” cast by Rockstar as “Tamara”. The interesting part is that Natonia updated her resume to remove the word “Fireball” just hours after the internet picked up on it.

Using the Wayback Machine, you can see that Monet’s resume listed her voice-over work for the “Fireball Video Game” by “Rockstar Games” as of July 15, 2022.

Vice City has long been rumored to be the setting for GTA 6.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to tell that Monet made an oopsie and Rockstar asked her to delete the listing from her resume. Unfortunately, Rockstar might have shot itself in the foot by doing so. We know that Rockstar is not working on anything else outside of GTA 6 and GTA Online. So, unless “Fireball” is the codename for GTA Online or a future update, it is safe to assume that Monet’s character is for GTA 6.

Speaking of assumptions, Monet’s resume update tells us just how early GTA 6 is still in its development. This is in line with what Jason Schreier said after debunking rumors that GTA 6 will have three protagonists.

Also, since we’re talking about GTA 6, someone bothered enough to stretch this small sliver of information to back up the prevailing theory that the setting for GTA 6 is Vice City. As per Americana, “Fireball” is a song by Pitbull, a world-famous musician from Miami.

As most of us might know already, Miami served as the inspiration for Vice City. It is also the setting for GTA: Vice City. Some fans believe that Rockstar is following a pattern where it will revisit the older cities with its newer games, such as when it gave Liberty City (New York) and San Andreas (Los Angeles) facelifts for GTA IV and GTA V, respectively.

We know it's a reach, but we wouldn't really mind it if Vice City is the setting for GTA 6.
We know it’s a reach, but we wouldn’t really mind it if Vice City is the setting for GTA 6.

But, we’ll have to see if all these speculations are true. Until GTA 6 comes out with an official reveal, we’ve got nothing else to do but to wait and come up with theories.
