The Metro series has a huge following among fans of survival horror shooters. The latest release in the franchise is already four years old, and it looks like 4A Games is ready to release the next installment soon. In fact, it's already playable start to finish.
Metro Exodus was released in February 2019 and went on to sell a tidy six million units. The first-person survival horror shooter was also well-received by critics and gamers thanks to its slower and more methodical pace. Metro Exodus also got a recent re-release for newer consoles.
Luckily, players may be getting a sequel to Metro Exodus really soon. Insider Gaming's Tom Henderson reports that the sequel is now in a fully playable state. Henderson also expects that the release of the game is imminent.
According to the report, the title "could be revealed later this year, with a tentative release window of 2024 if Metro Exodus' reveal and release schedule is anything to go by." The studio has not confirmed the reports so take this information with a grain of salt.
