A leaked image from Assassin's Creed Red reveal a female protagonist

A Japanese-style Assassin's Creed logo and a pagoda can also be seen in the image. The header image is likely part of a larger photo that has been cropped and also matches the previously released trailer for the game. In addition to the image, another Assassin's Creed leaker shared a bit more information about the heroine.

In a Twitter post, a user called j0nathan shared that the name of the female protagonist is Naoé/Naoi (which may still change in development). According to the post, the heroine will have a similar backstory to Bayek where a member of the Order killed her father and she is looking for revenge and joins the shinobis in the process.

Previous leaks for Assassin's Creed Red suggest that the game will have two protagonists with the other being an African Samurai. The latter could be based on a historical figure named Yasuke, a real African samurai from 16th-century Japan.

While the existence of a samurai character is still unconfirmed, we are sure that a shinobi will be the protagonist of the game based on the announcement trailer. Assassin's Creed Red is seen as the next entry into the series after Mirage.

We will likely be seeing the new entry in about a year or two, depending on how big the game will be. However, we have to keep in mind that the game is being made by Ubisoft, a developer that has had some struggles with release schedules in recent years.
