Long-time WWE champion, Roman Reigns, gets banned from TikTok

TikTok's astringent guidelines are presumed to have led to the banning of the official account of the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

Roman Reigns' week has gone from bad to worse with the TikTok ban.

It’s safe to say that we can consider Roman Reigns officially acknowledged – just not by the WWE universe.

The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion recently celebrated his 1,000th day atop the wrestling promotion’s totem pole, after which he surpassed Pedro Morales to become the third-longest-reigning WWE champion of all time. Everyone, from fans to WWE legends, acknowledges him. But, Reigns’ latest acknowledgment doesn’t come from fans and audiences. Rather, it’s from TikTok.

In a strange twist that has left wrestling fans around the globe puzzled, WWE superstar Roman Reigns, widely celebrated as the “Tribal Chief,” has vanished from the popular social media platform, TikTok.

Things aren’t about to look up for Roman Reigns soon as he’s expected to be subjected to the Tribal Court on the July 7 episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

Known for boasting a robust following of 1.3 million on the platform, and having racked up an impressive 7.6 million likes, the sudden disappearance of Roman Reigns from TikTok is a mystery that has left his fans searching for answers. A sudden turn of events for the WWE’s top star and central figure of the critically-acclaimed Bloodline story.

In an industry where simulated violence is part and parcel of the spectacle, many speculate that Reigns’ removal may be due to TikTok’s stringent policy against violent content. Yet, the theory seems odd, considering many WWE stars maintain active TikTok profiles featuring in-ring action. So, was Reigns banned due to the contents of his posts? Or was this merely a mishap in TikTok’s algorithms?

The ban’s impact, while frustrating for Reigns’ TikTok followers, seems unlikely to dent the wrestler’s towering stature in the WWE universe. Yet, the incident has undoubtedly added an unexpected chapter in Reigns’ storied wrestling career.

Roman Reigns is at his most vulnerable state at the moment with only Solo Sikoa at his side.

The TikTok ban came hot on the heels of Reigns tasting defeat for the first time in more than three years. At the Money In The Bank event in London, he was pinned down by former Bloodline member Jey Uso in a twist that shook WWE fans. In a match dubbed as the “Bloodline Civil War”, the pinfall loss marked a new low for what’s presumed to be the start of the downfall of the Tribal Chief.

Even though Reigns remains one of WWE’s biggest stars, the TikTok ban adds to the narrative surrounding his appearance on Friday Night SmackDown’s “Tribal Court.” The court segment, in which Reigns is set to face accusations from Jimmy and Jey Uso regarding his behavior towards the Bloodline, is expected to be an explosive part of the show.

Despite the recent hurdles, it’s crucial to remember the behemoth Reigns is in the WWE, where his popularity remains at an all-time high. His upcoming match at WrestleMania 40 against Cody Rhodes is already generating anticipation among fans, signaling brighter days ahead for the star, despite the bleak trajectory his storyline is headed for the next few months.

The entire situation is peculiar, intriguing, and unexplained, leaving fans eagerly waiting for a solution. Whether Reigns gets his TikTok account back or if it’s permanent, one thing is certain: the Head of the Table won’t be silenced. His name and legacy echo far beyond the constraints of social media platforms, firmly etched in the annals of WWE history.

Roman Reigns is expected to lose his WWE title belts at WrestleMania 40.

For now, TikTok may have banned the Tribal Chief, but it cannot ban the conversation, the speculations, and the loyalty of Reigns’ fans. As they say in the wrestling world, the show must go on.
