Next month, wrestling fans will step into the squared circle once again with the release of WWE 2K24. Building on success of WWE 2K22 and WWE 2K23 following a brief hiatus, this year’s edition brings a plethora of exciting features, including an expanded roster, a re-tooled Showcase mode, and, much to the cheerful shrieks of his fans, the inclusion of a fan-favourite wrestler in the late third-generation WWE superstar, Bray Wyatt, otherwise most recently known as “The Fiend.”
For the first time, players can unleash the chilling persona of The Fiend without purchasing additional downloadable content. This is significant fans who have followed Wyatt’s captivating and eerie performances in WWE.
Wyatt’s other personas, while not confirmed, could potentially join the roster as post-launch content in the future.
The 2K Showcase of the Immortals mode takes center stage in WWE 2K24, allowing players to relive forty years of WrestleMania history. Similar to the popular 30 Years of WrestleMania mode in WWE 2K14, this feature promises an immersive journey through iconic matches and moments that solidified the event’s legendary status. Players can expect to control wrestling royalty like The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, and John Cena, experiencing the evolution of WrestleMania firsthand.
One of the most unique and surreal matches in recent WWE history, “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt vs. John Cena in a Firefly Fun House Match from WrestleMania 36, will likely be playable in the 2K Showcase of the Immortals. This inclusion demonstrates WWE 2K24’s commitment to encompassing the diverse and sometimes bizarre elements of WrestleMania’s history, offering players a truly comprehensive experience.
A recently released video offers a glimpse into The Fiend’s chilling entrance in WWE 2K24. Players can look forward to seeing Bray Wyatt’s signature horrifying mask, crafted by Jason Baker of Callosum Studio, the haunting lantern shaped like Bray Wyatt’s face, and the iconic leather jacket and striped pants. This authentic recreation aims to capture the spine-tingling atmosphere associated with The Fiend’s persona.
While The Fiend’s addition to WWE 2K24 has generated significant excitement, the roster is incredibly deep – perhaps the franchise’s most well-stacked roster in years.
WWE 2K24’s standard edition features Cody Rhodes as the cover star, reflecting his overall impact as the current face of the WWE. Meanwhile, the Deluxe Edition honors Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley, showcasing the strength and talent of WWE’s women’s division. Perhaps best of all is that the Forty Years of WrestleMania Edition features iconic legends like The Undertaker and John Cena, solidifying the game’s connection to wrestling’s rich history.
As the weeks until its release on March 8 countdown, one thing is certain: the spirit of Bray Wyatt, embodied by The Fiend, will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on the virtual squared circle of WWE 2K24.
