Amazon Prime Video just dropped a very NSFW The Boys’ Season 3 trailer

The Boys' live-action adaptation is getting messier, grittier, and bloodier for its third season.

You know what they say, The Boys will be The Boys.

Amazon Prime Video’s superhero TV series was never one for subtlety, which isn’t entirely surprising when you consider its source material. But, those who’ve read the original comic books know that the show is still pulling its punches, or so to speak. Three seasons later, it appears that this is no longer the case.

In the first trailer for The Boys Season 3, Amazon gets down, dirty, and grimy, showcasing everything that fans have come to expect from the superhero drama and more. Plus, after waiting for more than a year, fans finally get their chance to see series newcomer, Jensen Ackles, who portrays Soldier Boy, in action.

Interestingly, the teaser doesn’t have a single dialogue. Still, it does a great job of setting things up for the upcoming season, with Homelander’s anger seen clearly on his face as he appears to be one step closer to a mental breakdown. The worst part here is that Ackles’ character, Soldier Boy, has been described as Homelander before Homelander. The World War II veteran has seen his fair share of bloodshed over the years. However, unlike The Seven’s leader, Soldier Boy isn’t exactly someone concerned about hiding his disdain for those who are weaker than him.

With at least two hot heads set to share the same stage in June, Season 3 of The Boys could be its most brutal yet.

In the comic books, Soldier Boy will do anything to please Homelander.

Having said that, The Boys Season 3 should keep even hardcore comic book fans on their toes. Although the show has deviated from the source material before, Season 3 gives the titular group’s leader, Billy Butcher, the kind of powers he’s never had before. This isn’t exactly good news as Butcher doesn’t have a reputation for being the most stable person. Giving Butcher the power to disintegrate others with just a look could drastically change the events of the Prime Video series.

As June is still at least three months away, fans can expect Amazon to drop more footage of The Boys the closer we are to the launch date. In the meantime, you’ll want to check out the animated spinoff, The Boys Presents: Diabolical, which is canon to the live-action series and explores Homelander’s life early on and his relationship with Black Noir.

In other news, Amazon just confirmed when the Lord of the Rings prequel will be hitting the streaming platform. In addition, there are rumors that Sony and Amazon are in talks for a live-action God of War TV series.
