House of the Dragon Season 2 is airing on HBO and Max this summer, treating us to yet another season filled with political drama centered around the historically dysfunctional family of dragon riders, the Targaryen, and a decades-long civil war that nearly decimated them from the face of Westeros.
Unfortunately, while a release date has long been confirmed, we still don’t know much about the upcoming season. HBO’s teaser for the new season was pretty spectacular but it’s clear audiences what more.
While Warner Bros. Discovery’s flagship series was a no-show at this year’s Super Bowl, a proper, full-length trailer is finally coming out soon.

As per the official Max account in France on Twitter, the first official trailer for House of the Dragon Season 2 is coming out sometime next week alongside previews for several anticipated titles like The Penguin, House of the Dragon, and Dune: Prophecy.
House of the Dragon, set a hundred years before Game of Thrones, has so far shown us the extravagance and power that once ruled over all of Westeros. But while Season 1 offered a glimpse of the creatures behind their 300-year reign, Season 2 could feature even more of them. For those who’ve read George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, more of the show’s ensuing battles will see dragons clashing all over Westeros, particularly, Rook’s Rest.
This pivotal battle in House of the Dragon Season 2 will be our first chance at seeing two evenly matched dragons trying to rip each other’s head off mid-air.
But if these majestic creatures aren’t enough, House of the Dragon Season 2 will feature its fair share of humans plotting against each other. In particular, a huge portion of the second season will take place in Winterfell, with Jace Targaryen off to visit the North to try and curry favor with Lord Cregan Stark after his younger brother, Lucerys, met his demise following a trip to Storm’s End.
With several new faces cast for Season 2, including Gayle Rankin as Alys Rivers and Tom Taylor as Lord Stark, the official trailer will show us just how much bigger House of the Dragon has become.
With only days to go until the premiere of the first official trailer for Season 2 of House of the Dragon, we can’t wait to find out what else HBO has in store for us.
Hopefully, after a nearly two-year wait, HBO will end all the speculation and we’ll see a specific premiere date at the end of the trailer.
