The 2024 Consumer Electronics Show is currently underway, and Sony has taken this opportunity to reveal its slate of movies scheduled to release this year. However, fans have expressed their disappointment in the studio after the reveal of Venom 3’s logo, which turned out to be a huge letdown.
As a third film in the Venom franchise, many expected Sony to jump at the chance to name it “V3nom.” Unfortunately, all Sony came up with is an unimaginative design consisting of the name Venom and a huge “3” in red behind the title. For a studio that can manage to pay A-list actors like Tom Hardy, Woody Harrelson, and Michelle Williams, Sony seriously dropped the ball on this one.
Thankfully, the internet never misses a chance to express its blunt opinion, which is exactly what Twitter users did.
Here’s a compilation of some of the best reactions:

There isn’t much known about the upcoming Venom sequel other than the fact that Tom Hardy will reprise his role as Eddie Brock, while Chiwetel Ejiofor and Juno Temple will join the cast, with the latter in a lead role. However, there’s been no indication that Michelle Williams will return for the final film in the Venom franchise.
Filming resumed last November following the end of the SAG-AFTRA strike, with Kelly Marcel, who wrote the scripts for the first two films, taking the helm as director. Details about the plot are yet to be disclosed, but the end credits stinger of Spider-Man: No Way Home implied that Venom might be making a jump to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
At the same time, the ending of Venom 2 also seemed to set up a possible introduction of Toxin after hinting at NYPD police officer Patrick Mulligan being infected with a part of Carnage. If Toxin does indeed make his debut in Venom 3, he will be the third major symbiote in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe. Unlike Venom and Carnage, Toxin turns out to be a heroic symbiote, which, in this case, would mean he gets to fight Venom (and Eddie Brock by extension).
Going back to Sony’s upcoming 2024 films, Karate Kid joined the lineup of film logos that were revealed. Announced to be in the works last year, Karate Kid will be directed by Jonathan Entwistle. Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio have been confirmed to reprise their respective roles in the film that is described as “the return of the original Karate Kid franchise.”

Venom 3 will hit theaters on November 8, while Karate Kid will follow a month later on December 13.
