We have known for a while that Sony plans to establish Uncharted as a new movie franchise following the commercial success of the first movie. While the studio remains mum on the sequel, actor Mark Wahlberg has some big news for the upcoming movie.
In an interview with The Direct, Wahlberg confirmed that Uncharted 2 is currently in development. The actor revealed that a script for the film has been written and he suggests a key change to the appearance of his character Sully. He shared that the character will be sporting his signature mustache in the entire movie.
“I’ve heard lots of different ideas,” said Wahlberg. “I know somebody’s written a script, and they’re still working on it, and it would consist of having the mustache the whole entire time. Which completely makes sense; obviously, in that final scene, I have the mustache. I spent quite a bit of time growing it because, at one point, we tried to do it with a fake mustache, and, I don’t know. I just don’t have the confidence to pull it off.”

Wahlberg went on to express his admiration for actors who can wear wigs and prosthetics with ease. The actor revealed that he struggled with the fake mustache and felt ridiculous wearing it. He eventually grew a real mustache which people appreciated.
Uncharted ended with Nate (Tom Holland) trading his ring for a map before being betrayed. He is saved by Sully before the pair are cornered by an unseen figure. The cliffhanger ending suggests that the sequel may adapt the plot of one of the Uncharted games.
The actor also expressed interest in returning for the sequel. Walhberg said that he would be open to reprising the role of Sully if the production team can make it better than the first one.

“So, if we can make it better than the first, you know, I’d be open to it, but I only know as much as you do right now,” Wahlberg shared.
We do not expect Uncharted 2 to happen in the near future given that Tom Holland is still in an acting hiatus after an emotionally taxing role in The Crowded Room. The actor may also occupied with filming for Spider-Man 4 when he returns. We know that Holland is actively discussing a return as the web-slinger for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There have been rumors that Marvel is fast-tracking the development of the fourth Spider-Man movie.
