The Marvel Cinematic Universe is already bustling with superhero teams, including the Avengers, The Marvels, Guardians of the Galaxy, Thunderbolts, and Fantastic Four. However, Marvel Studios seems to be gearing up for even team building exercises, if rumors about and Elsa Bloodstone project shake out.
Fresh rumors hint at the studio actively developing a project centered around a member of the Midnight Sons, potentially laying the groundwork for yet another addition to their roster of superhero teams.
According to Marvel insider Daniel Richtman (DanielRPK on X, formerly Twitter), Marvel Studios is starting work on a project for Elsa Bloodstone. The information was shared on the Marvel Future subreddit and via X. It is unclear whether this is a rumored project a movie or a TV series. Elsa made her MCU debut in the Disney+ TV special Werewolf by Night and was played by Laura Donnelly.

For those unfamiliar with the character, Elsa Bloodstone is an immortal monster hunter and daughter of Ulysses Bloodstone. The young monster hunter exhibits superhuman strength, speed, durability, and healing which she inherited from her father. She is adept at using firearms including rifles and submachineguns, which she carries in a stylish guitar case.
Additionally, Elsa wears a Bloodgem fragment pendant which grants her some unique abilities to fight off vampires. While we have very little information on the project, the rumor has started speculation from fans that Marvel is planning to introduce the Midnight Sons as part of its future, presumably after the Avengers: Secret Wars.
It is noteworthy as Blade and Wolverine are set to debut in the MCU in the ongoing Multiverse Saga. Both characters are members of the supernatural superhero squad. The team also features Morbius, who is already part of the MCU via the Sony Spider-Man universe.
The Midnight Sons team at one point featured notable Marvel characters Doctor Strange, Iron Fist, Moon Knight, Wong, and Scarlet Witch. Jennifer Kale, who will be making her debut in Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, is also part of the team. Johnny Blaze aka Ghost Rider was also part of the team at some point.

At this point, it is safe to say that Marvel can easily form a Midnight Sons team with the characters already in the MCU. The studio can bank on the presence of Wolverine, Doctor Strange, Wong, and Moon Knight to attract audiences to the project.
It will be interesting to see if Marvel will pursue the Midnight Sons as a possible superhero team along with the X-Men after the Avengers. While it sounds exciting, fans are divided on adding another team to the MCU.
The cinematic universe is already littered with characters that haven’t had solo projects or fully developed origin stories. Marvel is bringing in fresh characters to the cinematic universe like Agatha, Ironheart, and Echo while rumors suggest that Shang-Chi and the Eternals will be getting sequels sometime in the near future.
