Heart of Stone, Gal Gadot’s second Netflix original movie, smashed the competition when it debuted on the streaming platform last week. The spy action film sits atop the leaderboard, being the most-watched movie on the platform by a wide margin.
Gadot’s newest film racked up over 33 million views since it debuted. Heart of Stone has been watched more than four times as much as its closest competition on the platform. Second place sees a two-way tie between Hidden Strike, which is on its third week, and newcomer Untold: Johnny Football, which was viewed 7.7 million times last week.
What is Heart of Stone about?

Gadot plays secret agent Rachel Stone in the action-adventure film. She is introduced as an operative for the British government’s MI6 and an expert hacker. Initially, Stone seemingly does not have any actual field experience and is confined to the surveillance van.
During one of the team’s missions, Stone is forced to reveal her true identity as a double agent when her team was unexpectedly attacked by a team of mercenaries. She has been working for a secretive organization known simply as The Charter and is an expert in fieldcraft.
The Charter becomes the target of other intelligence organizations that want to gain possession of the software called “The Heart.” This sophisticated piece of technology uses data to accurately predict future events based on mathematical probability. When the software falls into enemy hands, Stone goes all out to retrieve The Heart and prevent a global disaster.
How does Heart of Stone compare to Red Notice?

According to a report by IGN, 1.8 million households in the US watched Heart of Stone during its opening weekend. The data was provided by the analytics company Samba TV which specializes in providing real-time insights and audience analytics.
While Heart of Stone tops the Netflix charts, the film pales in comparison to Gadot’s first Netflix movie Red Notice. The action comedy had major star power as it featured Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne Johnson alongside Gadot. Red Notice is one of the most watched movies on the streaming platform, ever.
“Gal Gadot’s second major Netflix original, Heart of Stone, made a splash with 1.8 million U.S. households watching this weekend but was just a drop in the bucket compared to her first original, Red Notice, with 4.2 million households over its first three days,” Cole Strain, VP of Measurement Products at Samba TV, said in a statement.
It may not be an apples-to-apples comparison between Heart of Stone and Red Notice considering that the latter had significantly more A-list stars attached to the project. We are also seeing a surge in blockbuster movies this summer compared to when Red Notice debuted in 2021 when much of the movie industry was still reeling from the effects of the global pandemic.
